Relubrication of Mounted Units
ABT mounted bearing inserts are pre-lubricated at the factory and
ready for operation. Proper relubrication of bearings can greatly
increase bearing life. Optimal relubrication intervals are determined
by application speed and operating environment. ABT units
should be relubricated with NLGI #2 grease that is compatible
with a lithium thickener and mineral oil base and can operate in a
range of -4° to 250° Fahrenheit. Below is a general guideline for
relubrication intervals, however, application experience should
dictate optimal intervals.

Grease Fill Amounts
Appropriate grease fill will assume maximum life. Care should
be taken not to overfill bearing as this will cause overheating
and unseating of the seals. Grease should be applied under low
pressure during slow shaft rotation for optimal distribution. The
table on the right shows suggested grease fill amounts, however,
application experience should dictate.
